Campaign Zero is conducting paid interviews with anyone impacted by pay-to-stay fees. If you or your family member were:

1. Incarcerated in the past 5 years

AND

2. Charged room & board or medical fees, or both, during incarceration

The interview will last about one hour and participants will receive a $25 gift card for their time.

Did you know all but ONE state (Illinois) allow for imposition of some form of Pay-to-Stay fees (room & board or medical fees) for adults and youth.

This means that each year thousands of incarcerated individuals have outstanding debt to pay even after they’ve served their sentence, adding even more stress and financial hardship as they seek to successfully settle back into their communities.
