While several cities, such as Houston, have already installed gunshot-detection technology in their neighborhoods to attempt to detect the sound of gunfire and alert the police to its presence,  a recent survey by YouGov and Campaign Zero found that most voters haven’t heard of ShotSpotter, the main company supplying the technology. The survey found that voters want independent validation before outside tech is used in policing, reports YouGovAmerica.
