Diminishing the power of police requires a targeted and multi-faceted approach. This involves reducing when law enforcement can be deployed, what actions they can take when interacting with individuals, and defining when and how they are permitted to take those actions. We aim to get to a place where the police are not the response to conflict in communities at all. We also acknowledge that until that day, we want the police that do exist to do as little harm as possible.
